4. Gas-liquid separation. Wedge wire screens are employed in the gas processing units in the petrochemical industry. They help separate entrained liquid droplets from natural gas or other gases, to improve the quality of gases and prevent damage to downstream equipment.
5. Hydrocyclone support. Wedge wire screens can be used as a support structure in hydro cyclones, typically used in processes such as oil-water separation or sand removal from produced water, facilitating liquid-liquid or liquid-solid separation.
